How to play
- Type each word, then press the space bar to move on to the next one.
- One wrong key, a letter or a space, and the run is over.
- Every ten words, the words get longer.
There is no timer: take the time you need. Accuracy is the foundation of speed: typists who rarely make mistakes never have to slow down to fix them.
Your score
Your score is the number of words typed in a row without a single wrong key. The words come from the 800 most common words of the language, and longer ones appear as you go. Your best run is kept in your browser, for each language.
How to go further
- Use the first, short words to settle into a calm rhythm.
- Look at the whole word before typing its first letter.
- Keep your fingers on the home row between words: most mistakes come from a hand that has drifted.
- Once you reach 50 words in a row, try the typing test in expert mode: a wrong word ends it, and you also get a speed.
