How the course works

Each lesson adds two or three keys to the ones you already know. You start with the home row, then move up to the top row and down to the bottom row, before capitals, numbers, punctuation and accents.

A lesson is passed when you reach its speed and accuracy goal. Your progress is saved in your browser.

Before you start

  • Sit up straight, feet flat, wrists relaxed above the keyboard.
  • Rest your fingers on the home row: the small bumps on F and J guide your index fingers without looking.
  • Look at the screen, not at your hands. The on-screen keyboard shows the next key and the finger to use.
  • Go slowly. Accuracy first: speed follows.
