Typocto helps you type faster and more accurately, without looking at the keyboard.
How you learn
- Lessons teach every key step by step, from the home row to numbers and accents.
- Adaptive practice finds your weakest keys and drills them.
- Speed tests measure your words per minute and accuracy.
- Games keep you practising for fun.
Everything works in your language and on your keyboard layout.
Free for everyone
Typocto is free and needs no account. Your progress is saved in your browser. The site is funded by advertising, never shown while you type.

How the exercises are made
- The words come from frequency lists of each language: you practise the words people really write.
- The practice texts, proverbs and guides are written for each language, not translated word for word.
- The books you can type are public-domain classics, from Project Gutenberg and Wikisource.
- Each language comes with its own keyboard: US QWERTY for English, the Spain and Latin American layouts for Spanish, ABNT2 for Brazilian Portuguese, AZERTY for French, QWERTZ for German, the Italian layout, and the Arabic (101) and Arabic (102) AZERTY layouts for Arabic.
Your data
You never need an account. A free, optional account keeps your progress and records on all your devices, and lets you enter the verified leaderboards with a nickname. Without an account, your results stay in your browser.
Meet Octo
Octo, the octopus you meet across the site, gives tips in the lessons and guides, warns you when Caps Lock is on and cheers your records. It is also the hero of Typo Fight and Typo Siege. You can hide it in your preferences.
