Practise on what you really type
Typing the texts you write every day (emails, reports, code comments, a language you are learning) trains exactly the words and keys you need.
- Paste up to 3,000 characters, then press Start.
- You can ignore capitals or remove punctuation to focus on the letters.
- Characters your keyboard cannot type are removed, and you are told how many.
Your text stays in your browser: it is never sent to us.
Ideas of texts to practise
- The emails and messages you write most often.
- Words of a language you are learning: choose its keyboard layout so the accents can be typed.
- A piece of code you write every week.
- A poem, a speech or song lyrics you want to learn by heart.
How it is scored
As in the typing test: words per minute, where five correct characters count as one word, and accuracy. Long texts give the most reliable results, and you can type the same text again to see your progress.
