Typing certificate

Take the standard 5-minute test while signed in: the server checks every keystroke and gives you a certificate with its own link, to add to a CV or an application.

Take the 5-minute test

What the certificate shows

Your name, your speed in words per minute, your accuracy, the language and the date of the test. Each certificate has its own number and its own page: whoever opens the link, a recruiter or a teacher, sees the same figures.

How to get one

  1. Create a free account, or sign in.
  2. Open the 5-minute typing test in its standard version: no punctuation or numbers, normal difficulty. A « Verified » badge appears above the words.
  3. Type for five minutes. At the end, press « Get your certificate », write your name as it should appear, and create the certificate.
  4. Download it as a PDF (its link is clickable) or as an image, or copy its link.

How the result is checked

The server chooses the words of the test and receives every keystroke with its timing. It recalculates the speed and the accuracy itself: the figures on a certificate never come from the browser. Tests with pasted text, a machine-like rhythm, an impossible speed or less than 75% accuracy are refused.

Your name and your privacy

The name you write appears on the certificate's page, which search engines do not index. You can delete a certificate from your account at any time, and its page stops working at once. Deleting your account deletes all your certificates.

Words per minute

A word counts as five characters, spaces included, as in every typing test, and only correctly typed words count toward the speed. Around 40 words per minute is average, 50 to 70 is good, 70 to 90 is fast and 90 or more is very fast.
